The Fisheries Control Directorate within the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs has said that the Professional Fishing Vessels – Part-time (category MFB) may change their category to professional category – Full-time (category MFA), by making a request in writing to the Fishing Vessel Register and Licensing Section, Fisheries Control Directorate, Barriera Wharf, Valletta.

The owners of vessels in the MFB category who have already made a request to the Directorate, do not need to re-apply. These vessel owners will be informed in writing by the Fisheries Control Directorate regarding the procedure and documents required, in order to change their professional vessel category.
