Now that the set of sixteen stained glass windows in the dome of Gozo’s Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary has been successfully restored, this month the Sanctuary has embarked on the restoration process of the main window on its Neo-Romantic façade, almost a century old.

The large stained glass window is made of eight parts, each a metre high and contain not less than eighty pieces of glass. The restoration is being carried out by Mr Joe Meilaq, who last year restored the dome windows.

It is the first time that the beautiful stained glass windows of Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, some of which are more than eighty-years old have been restored.

Once this restoration project is completed, the Sanctuary plans to start with the restoration of the rest of the stained glass windows which adorn this National Shrine of Our Lady in Gozo.
