This weekend in the St. Vincent de Paul Hall – Luqa an Exotic Finch Exhibition is being held, organised by the Exotic Finch Association of Malta.
All kinds of exotic finches will be on display, like gouldian finches, zebra finches, parrot finches, java sparrows, long-tail finches, owl finches, star finches, bengalese, waxbills, munias, mannikins and many more.
While encouraging the public to visit the exhibition, Mr Charlon Ellul, Mr Jonathan Zammit and Mr Anthony Grech, the exhibition organisers and founders of the association, said that this show is giving a first time opportunity to all those exotic finch breeders who wish to show their birds, but till now could not do so since the main show season coincides with their breeding season.
The Exotic Finch Association was founded in June 2012 and is the first association on the Maltese Islands which focuses on the breeding and display of exotic birds. The Association said that over the past years this species has continued to increase in popularity. The main objectives of the Association are to o encourage and support the breeding and exhibiting of the Exotic Finches, to diffuse the hobby of keeping and breeding Exotic Finches, to organise educational meetings and to hold the annual Exotic Finch Show.
The opening hours for the exhibition are: Saturday 15th September 09.00 – 20.00 Sunday 16th September 09.00 – 15.00.
