Bank of Valletta said that it has positioned itself as one of the leading patrons of cultural activities organised in Gozo and is once again supporting “Turandot” by Puccini held at Opera Theatre Aurora on Saturday 13th October 2012 in Victoria, Gozo.

This event will be the curtain raiser for the theatrical season 2012/2013, which happens to be held on the 35th anniversary of one of the leading opera houses on the Maltese Islands.

A cast of star-quality and international singers are being contracted to interpret skillfully the main roles in Turandot. The world-renowned soprano Maria Guleghina will honour the Maltese Islands by travelling all the way from New York’s Metropolitan to star as Turandot in this masterpiece. As in previous years, the theatre has secured the services of the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra which will be directed by conductor Colin Attard.

“Turandot” is the tale of a prince’s wooing of an icy princess and the riddles he must solve to win her hand. Get swept up in the music that’s delighted audiences for generations.
