Friday was the last day of the freshers’ week held at the University of Malta Campus. The Gozo University Group hosted a stand and reported a very good response from both new and existing students, with 300 new membership applications received by the Group over the week.
Various VIPs paid a visit to the stand, including the Prime Minister, Dr Lawrence Gonzi, the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, the Leader of the Opposition Dr Joseph Muscat, Clyde Puli, Dr Justyne Caruana, Dr Simon Busutill and Prof Joe Friggieri.
The GUG President Ryan Mercieca explained the important role of the organisation within the campus of both Malta and Gozo. He also highlighted the current situation of the public transport from Cirkewwa to Msida.
Gozitan students who visited the stand had the opportunity to collect accommodation grant application forms and get all the up-to-date information on activities being organised by GUG and the University.
