Art works from the National Collection are on display in Gozo in two separate exhibitions organised by the Heritage Malta and the Ministry for Gozo.

An exhibition entitled ?Views of Gozo (1800-1940 in the National Collection? is on display at the Banca Giuratale in Victoria and includes 17 views of Gozo which were drawn in different times by different artists, amongst them Edward Lear, Girolama Gianni, Michele Bellanti, Salvatore and Clemente Busuttil, Charles de Brockdorff and Edward Caruana Dingli. This exhibition will be open till the 30th of May.

The second exhibition is entitled ?Lazzaro Pisani (1854 -1932) and Giuseppe Briffa (1901 ? 1987) Donations to the National Collection? is being displayed at the Exhibition Hall, within the Ministry for Gozo. This exhibition includes a number of works done by these two Maltese artists who have a strong affinity to Gozo and in fact left many of their works in different churches around Gozo. This exhibition will remain open until the 28th of May.

These exhibitions were inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, who said that this is another initiative taken by the Ministry for Gozo, together with Heritage Malta, which sees our countries? art works and treasures become more accessible as well as better appreciated by the public. Minister Debono also said that these exhibitions are coinciding with the Gozo 1234 activities which are to be held in the first few days of May and for which all Gozitans and Maltese are encouraged to attend.
