It’s always difficult trying to think of a present for Christmas that is out of the ordinary, but special at the same time. If this sounds a familiar story then maybe helping an unwanted animal is just the right thing for you. The Gozo SPCA in Victoria run a sponsorship scheme for their animals at the Rehoming Centre, who live both inside and out.
There are many different reasons why the dogs and cats are spending their Christmas at the Centre in Victoria. Some have been abandoned, others cruelly neglected and some are there because of changes within their normal home environment. Whatever the reason, they are all loved and cared for, as well in some cases, nursed back to health, by the volunteers at the Centre.
Happy and Lexi, who live in Germany, have sponsored the dogs at Gozo SPCA. Happy was a rescue dog from Spain and he wanted to help other dogs because he was given a chance of a new life and now has everything he needs and more besides.
Think of the animals this Christmas, if you love animals but can’t have one where you live, or if you live overseas, why not sponsor a dog or cat at Gozo SPCA? For a donation of €30 (or more) per year, you can sponsor one of the animals at the Gozo SPCA Rehoming Centre.
Gozo SPCA will send you a photograph of your sponsored animal along with details of how it came to be with them.. You will also get a certificate of sponsorship. They will also update you regularly on the progress of your sponsored animal.
Your donation will go towards the feeding, upkeep and veterinary care of the animal you have sponsored. It will also provide toys and treats which help improve their quality of life. Should your sponsored animal be lucky enough to be re-homed, then the Gozo SPCA will transfer your sponsorship to another deserving animal of your choice.
