The S.K. Victoria Wanderers Football Club have said that their 22-year wait for new premises has finally come to an end, after MEPA issued permits for the development of their new club premises at the belvedere adjacent to the children’s play area and bus station in Main Gate Street, Victoria and will comprise a new two storey building.
The club said that over the years four different sites were proposed and that for one reason or another the first three had to be dropped. The club added that it was thanks to the ‘never say die attitude’ and total dedication to the cause of the present club President, Mr Brian Azzopardi that the club succeeded in obtaining permits for the fourth site and that he was greatly helped by club secretary Mr Keith Vella Muskat.
The club said that in the coming days it will be releasing further news regarding the funds it has obtained from the Good Causes Fund and the Gozo Ministry, as well as additional details on the forthcoming new club premises.
The club added that it is greatly indebted to the Gozo Minister, Giovanna Debono, MP Frederick Azzopardi and Victoria Mayor Dr Samuel Azzopardi.

And what is more the Gozo SPCA are not asking for public funds to build it. I guess that animals are maybe less deserving or there are too many foreigners trying to help them, neither of which can vote…….
