Lucio Dalla, accompanied by his band and vocalists, will be interpreting some of his greatest hits of all times, including the likes of “Attenti al Lupo”, “Gesu Bambino”, “Caro amico ti Scrivo” and the record-breaking song “Caruso”, that alone has sold over 9 million copies around the world.

The concert is being organised by Renaissance Productions Ltd. Tickets are on sale from www.maltaticket.com, Agenda Bookshops, BookEnds Bookshops, NewsKiosk and Exotique at Eur 60 (VIP Gold Section), Eur 45 (Silver Section) and Eur 35 (Bronze Section). The VIP Gold Section ticket holders are entitled to reserved parking facilities and to an exclusive post-concert function with Lucio Dalla in attendance at the Malta Fairs and Convention Center.

Mr Lucio Dalla sold 28 albums since his career debut in 1971. His very first public appearance was at the Sanremo Festival. The album “Cambio”, released in 1990, still holds the record of album sales in Italy with over 1.4 million copies sold. A close next in terms of record sales is his album “Canzoni” which got classified as the album that sold most throughout the 90’s. Lucio Dalla also composed a number of movie scores for some of Italy’s leading film directors and is also well-known for co-starring in variety shows on Italian TV, most notably with the glamorous Sabrina Ferrilli in Raiuno’s Saturday night show “La Bella e la Bestia” that attracted TV audiences of nearly 10 million spectators. Evidence of the artists’ versatile career is further reflected when in 2003 Mr Dalla composed a new opera “Tosca: Amore Disperato”, inspired by Giacomo Puccini’s own “Tosca”. This mega production has been successfully touring Italian theatres ever since its debut attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators who have relished such an initiative. Moreover, Mr Dalla has also performed as an actor in the role of Sancho Panza in the movie “Quijote”, directed by Mimmo Palladino and which participated at the Venice Film Festival in 2006.

The latest album released in January of this year” Lucio Dalla Live – La Neve e la Luna” received excellent reviews from his fans and critics alike.

“Despite being on the musical scene for over 35 years, Lucio Dalla’s popularity and cult personality seem to have no boundaries as people keep flocking in their thousands to each and every live performance he decides to give. Mr. Dalla is the very epitome of Italy’s famed cantautori artists. The Maltese public is lucky to have him perform live at the Malta Fairs & Convention Center where the seating arrangements are being planned to create an intimate atmosphere between the public and the stage performers. We are confident this concert will turn out to be yet another truly magical evening of top quality entertainment”, said RPL directors Dr. Anton Tabone and Amabile Zammit.

The supporting sponsors are Jaguar, the Malta Tourism Authority, AirMalta, Credal Network, Malta Fairs and Convention Center, and Coca Cola.
