The Lm2 and Lm5 banknotes of the Fourth Series, shown here, and which ceased to be legal tender on the 15th of June 1998, will not remain exchangeable after the 16th of June 2008, in terms of Article 62(1) of the Central Bank of Malta Act (Cap. 204).

Whoever is in possession of any of these notes is encouraged to exchange them as soon as possible. These notes can be exchanged at par at all banks until the 2nd of June 2008 and at the Annex of the Central Bank of Malta, St. James’s Counterguard, Valletta, until 12:30 on Monday the 16th of June 2008.

These notes will be worthless after the 16th of June 2008.
