Update 2: Last night at the close of Istrina 2012, an all time record was set with €3,294,997 pledged. This beat last year’s figure, which was also a record, of €2,566,539.
€2,798,368 had been pledged up to around 10.30pm this evening for Istrina 2012. The 12-hour TV marathon in aid of charity is aired on all local TV stations-TVM, Net, One, Favourite Channel and Smash.
With about an hour to go until this year’s activities for Istrina get underway in Gozo, the dontations continue to flood in, with over €1,000,000 pledged so far.
The Aurora Theatre in Victoria is the place to be at 7pm, when the Gozo event will start, attended by the President of Malta Dr George Abela.
The Istrina Day 2012 event organised by the theatre will take the form of a special 3-hour show of the best local talent, as well as live links.
The tickets for the Istrina 2012 fundraiser are €5 each and are available from the Aurora Theatre. The entire profit from the event will go to Istrina 2012.
