Yesterday, a state of emergency was declared in Bangkok. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises that Maltese nationals currently in Bangkok or those who intend to travel there should exercise caution, avoiding any demonstrations or large gatherings of people.
Travel to Thailand is being affected by these demonstrations and travel services may be disrupted. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is therefore recommending that travellers should check with their airline before travel.
It is also recommended that Maltese nationals should monitor developments through the media and the Ministry’s travel advice.
