Guided tour & lecture on ‘Lent and Easter Customs in Gozo’

Wirt Ghawdex is pleased to announce the detail of its next lecture in 2013, which will consist of a guided tour followed by a short lecture.
Dr Paul P Pisani will be giving a guided tour of the newly opened ‘Il-Hagar – Heart of Gozo’ museum in Victoria. He will follow this up with a short lecture, also at the museum, entitled ‘Lent and Easter Customs in Gozo.’
Dr Paul George Pisani is a notary public by profession, practising in Gozo. He graduated as Notary Public in 1985 and graduated Doctor of Laws in 1986. In 2010 he graduated MA in Mediterranean Historical Studies from the University of Malta. He has followed courses in civil law and trust law as well as in archival studies both locally and abroad. He has published several contributions about Maltese legislation, history, art and literature. He has published some short biographies of prominent Gozitan personalities and contributed to several collective works.
A critical annotated edition of a manuscript found in the National Library of Malta about the Battle of Lepanto awaits publication. He is a member of the Malta Institute of Management, of the Akkademja tal-Malti and the Ghaqda tal-Malti (Universita’), of the Malta Folklore Society, the Sacra Militia Foundation and the Malta Historical Society.
Dr Pisani is also a knight of Magistral Grace in the SMOM.
The lecture, which will be delivered in English, is taking place on Friday the 15th of March, starting at 6.30pm.
