1. The Gozo College Rabat Primary School is taking part in the campaign organised by Green MT entitled Reduce, Reuse, Recyle.

The launching took place recently in the school hall. Representatives from Green MT explained the reasons behind the campaign and why we should do our best to preserve the environment. The campaign is a competition among schools. Children are encouraged to bring plastic and paper to school which will be eventually recyled.

The school that collects the largest amount of paper and plastic per capita in one month’s time will be the winning school. Actor Daniel Chircop of Zoo animated the activity. Kristina Kasolani sang the campaign’s theme song. The school children were actively involved through dance and singing.2. The restored chapel of the Visitation in Gharb, known as Taz-Zejt, was inaugurated recently by the then Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono.

The renovation project by Gharb council cost around €640,000. The statue of St Paul, which stands on the upper part of the belfry, has also been restored, as was also the entrance to the chapel.

The inauguration programme consisted of Mass by the chapel’s rector Canon Achille Cauchi and a musical interlude by violinist Stefan Scerri. Architect Edward Scerri gave a short description of the restoration works.
