The Diocesan Via Crucis was held recently on the Way of the Cross on Ghammar Hill, next to Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary in Gozo. H.L. Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, led the Via Crucis, with the participation of Gozitan parish priests and the faithful from the Diocese of Gozo and from Malta.

The meditations for this year were written by Fr Edward Vella, a priest from Gharb who serves at Ta’ Pinu. These included various prayers from popular devotion and also writings by Maltese Canonised Saint Dun Gorg Preca.

At the end of the Via Crucis, which was broadcast live on Radju Marija, the Bishop gave a short message, followed by the Eucharistic Benediction.

The Sanctuary’s façade was lit up with various lights, and flares were also put along the way up to the hill where the stations are.
