The government has requested the resignation of the chief executive officer of ARMS Ltd. after it was found that ARMS Ltd had passed on incorrect information to the Department of Social Security. As a result, 3,119 energy benefits, from a total of 3,897, were issued with a significantly lower amount.

The Ministry for Energy said that the situation at ARMS Ltd has been problematic ever since it was set up, and that as a result, families and businesses have been suffering from a series of shortcomings and mismanagement.

The Ministry said that this is just the latest in a series of serious and unacceptable errors, which is directly borne by the consumer and for which the taxpayer ultimately pays.

Meanwhile, the Government said that it will ensure that the families involved will receive the amounts to which they are entitled in the shortest possible time
