European Youth Week activities closing event in Marsalforn

Sunday in Marsalforn saw the closing activities of the European Youth Week. The European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA) together with Agenzija Zghazagh and the Kummissjoni Djocesana Zghazagh (KDZ) joined the rest of Europe and organised a number of activities which started on the 25th of May in Malta and concluded in Gozo yesterday.
The event was aimed at involving young people in structured dialogue and was attended by a good crowd of all ages, who joined in with the organised activiites which were held until 5.00pm
Youth workers spoke to the young visitors at the event to promote the importance and relevance of expressing their own opinions and needs.
There was a show case of various organisations and an exhibition of YiA best practice projects, including street artists by SPYS, Kids Area and face painting, awareness about recycling, graffiti boards with messages about Active Citizenship and an Awareness Raising Campaign by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps of Gozo, on First Aid among others.
Consultation booths were present for necessary information by the MTNA, the stakeholders involved as well as Eurodesk Malta.
The Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo attended the event.
