The 3rd edition of Fiori D’Argenta, a festival of culture, history, drama and traditions, has been taking place in the village of Xewkija this weekend.

Organised by the Xewkija Local Council, the spectacular entertainment, which opened on Friday evening with a traditional dinner and firework display, has been taking place in St John the Baptist Square as well as the surrounding areas.Throughout the two days there has been folk music, crafts, historic sites open, hands on crafts for children, a falcon show and horse defile, an exhibition of classic vehicles, to name just a few!The weekend’s events have attracted large crowds of all ages to the Festival.

Sunday evening from 7.30pm there will be a Mattia Preti Exhibition at the Band Club premises in St Catherine Street.

The largest traditional ‘Torta tal-Bajtar ta’ San Gwann’ was baked and everyone had a chance to have a taste of the finished result!
