To commemorate the 10th Anniversary from the historical visit of the bronze statue of Saint John Paul II to the locality of Zebbug (Gozo), the JP2 Foundation, in full collaboration with the Zebbug Local Council, presented a concert of classical music at the parish church.
The concert was by Stefan Calleja (Violin) and Desiree Quintano (cello). The repertoire included Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, R. Gliere, J. Massenet, and Ludwig Van Beethoven.
During the concert the President of the JP2 Foundation, Comm. Carmel Zammit, presented an image in pyrography – woodburning, of the Polish Pope, the work of Joseph Cini from Zebbug, which will be kept on display in the Parish Church.
The bronze statue of Saint John Paul II is part of the National Monument dedicated to the Saint, which is located at the beginning of the main road from Victoria leading to the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta 'Pinu.
