The feast of St John the Baptist will be marked in Gozo by a special traditional event which has become part of Gozo’s cultural calendar.
‘Il-Hgejjeg ta’ San Gwann’ will be enacted on the imposing Citadel bastions with scenic views of Gozo providing a unique backdrop to this spectacular evening.
This event will include an animated cultural tour of places in Gozo related to St John the Baptist and the Knights of Malta followed by an evening of music, folk and a traditional Gozitan meal.
There will be the lighting of a traditional bonfire to commemorate the feast and add to the atmosphere of the evening.
The tour departs from Mgarr upon the arrival of the 5.15pm boat from Malta and returns in time for the 11.00pm ferry.
The ticket price per person is €10, (excluding ferry ticket).
