Malta Sotheby’s International launch complements the GRP

Dr Edward Zammit Lewis, Parliamentary Secretary for Competitiveness and Economin Growth yesterday launched Malta Sotheby’s International, which he said is an investment by the CSB Group aimed to attract qualified international buyers into Malta and to further promote the island’s Unique Selling Perspective in as far as wealth in heritage, history, art, cultural and Mediterranean lifestyle are concerned. He also said that it complements the recently launched Global Residence Programme.

The Parliamentary Secretary said during the launch that since his “portfolio includes competitiveness, which is essential for Malta given its high dependence on exports of goods and services, the launch of this brand in Malta is great news.

“Such initiatives further empower Malta’s economic growth, create new employment opportunities and strengthen its economic standing.”

“This launch closely follows The Global Residence Programme a very important initiative launched by my Government. This launch will be facilitating the residence process by offering excellent incentives for persons mostly outside the European Union and outside the European Economic Area who want to invest in Malta,” Zammit Lewis said.

The Parliamentary Secretary continued, “this programme will give a strong boost to various economic sectors leading to Economic Growth. The Global Residence Programme will be revitalising the property sector by increasing property acquisitions and lease holds in our country, especially that of a certain value, allowing the country to get more money in revenue, increasing work, even to professionals in this sector such as lawyers and tax consultants. It will also help the Financial Services industry, the leisure and hospitality industry.

“The launch of Malta Sotheby’s International promises to continue creating a climate within which local and foreign entrepreneurs would want to invest. Apart from the various tax and fiscal benefits that Malta carries with it, investing in property on the island remains an attractive proposition with the Maltese market achieving strong appreciation.”

Zammit Lewis said that “Malta Sotheby’s International will be aiming to serve the high-end residential and commercial real estate market throughout the islands of Malta and Gozo, representing properties of exceptional quality, unique characteristics and good value for money.

“It is interesting to note that the Sotheby’s International network currently has more than 12,800 sales associates located in approximately 660 offices in 47 different countries and territories worldwide. The demand for luxury residential properties is increasing all over the world and Malta is certainly no exception.”

“It is the Government’s intention to support initiatives of the private sector in promoting Malta as a high quality residence option for foreigners to invest in our country. Welcome too are joint initiatives by the bodies that represent the developers and the real estate agents. It is the Government’s aim to strengthen Malta’s reputation in this regard,” the Parliaentary Secretary concluded.
