The lifeguards of Gozo’s Emergency Response and Rescue Corps stationed at Blue Lagoon in Comino, were this afternoon called to give assistance to an Italian bather, following an incident that took place at around 3.30pm.

The 25-year old Italian suffered from back pain after jumping off Cominotto and was transported to Mgarr Harbour to be transferred to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment.

The lifeguarding service at the Blue Lagoon in Comino is possible due to financial support from the Malta Tourist Authority. Support is also being provided by the Ministry for Gozo, Mgarr Marina, Transport Malta, Police, Armed Forces of Malta, Police and the Civil Protection Department.
