The Judiciary has released its comments on the Second Report published by the Commission for the Holistic Reform of the Justice Sector. This Second Report deals mostly with proposals for institutional reform, for reform of the laws of civil and criminal procedure and administrative measures.

The Judiciary said that “while expressing cautious agreement with a number of proposed changes in the laws of procedure and administrative reforms, the Judiciary expressed its grave concern on some of the proposed institutional reforms.”

“Particularly about those measures which drastically weaken the Commission for the Administration of Justice by reducing its functions and its powers,” the Judiciary said that “this conflicts with the fact that the Reform Commission was entrusted by Government with the task of strengthening the Commission for the Administration of Justice rather than of debilitating it.”
