The 16th edition of the ‘Gieh in-Nadur Award’ has been given to Miss Salvina Buttigieg by the Nadur Local Council.

The official presentation ceremony will take place during a special programme held by the Council at its premises at the Joe Tabone Hall in November.

Miss Buttigieg, who had worked in the education department, was awarded the honour for her lifelong commitment to the local community, being always ready to help in many activities in Nadur. Her major contribution was with the parish choir for the Nadur Feast of St Peter and St Paul.

Back in the late 1960s Miss Buttigieg was involved in the setting up a dance group for the carnival, as well as in the oganisation of the local choir, song festivals and sports events in the Nadur Primary School.
