The Police have advised that a diver drowned this morning after finding himself in difficulties at Xwejni Bay, Gozo

The diver, a 59-year old French National, was diving with a group at about 11.30am, when he got into difficulties.

An ambulance was called on site, however, the victim was certified dead at the scene.

The Duty Magistrate was informed about the case and appointed several experts to assist him in the inquiry.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
