Wirt Ghawdex is organising its public next lecture which is entitled, ‘Ascent and Descent: Nobility versus the Others in the late 19th Century,’ by Dr Michael Refalo.
It will delve into the reasons of why, during the late nineteenth century, the Maltese nobility’s status was on the wane while the status of senior civil servant and professional people was increasing.
The lecture will take place on Friday, the 1st of November, at the Santa Cecilia Chapel, Ghajnsielem, starting at 6.30pm.
The lecture will be delivered in English and is open to the general public.
Seating is limited and seats can be reserved by emailing a request to membership@wirtghawdex.org by Wednesday, the 30th of October.
It will be appreciated if such a lecture is passed on to us in Malta. Perhaps in a writing form on Malta geneaology website.
