The opening of the Gozo Live book fair is now less than a week away, on Thursday, the 31st of October. The official opening and blessing will take place on Friday, the 1st of November at 12 noon and the fair runs through to Sunday evening.

All this is taking place in the Exhibition Hall within the Ministry for Gozo in St Francis Square.

There will be readings in the mornings and visitors to the exhibition will be able to meet authors, chat to them and have books signed from time to time during the day. Each evening there will be further performances and readings – a different programme each time.

Programmes will appear next week so please schedule several visits to the book fair. Entry is free.

There will be a great selection of books on sale from children’s stories to novels to non- fiction books, in both English and Maltese. These publications are added to by the exhibitors who will be providing a wide range of interesting reading material guaranteed to suit all tastes.

The organisers siad that “there is far too much to list it all here – come along and browse the stalls and then listen to some readings and watch a few performances.”

There will be several story telling sessions both in the mornings and the evenings especially for children although parents often love those tales just as much.

This is an opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping. A book is a gift for life and it will be even better if you manage to get the author’s signature.

Entrance is free of charge and the exhibition will be open from 9.00am, with performances from 7pm onwards.
