The Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT) has chosen Malta as the venue for its 2014 annual conference, one of the UK’s leading tourism and travel trade events.
Over 400 British senior figures will attend the conference, whose members span the entire spectrum of the travel and tourism industry, from tour operators and travel agents through to airlines, hoteliers, tourist offices and those involved in car hire, travel insurance, finance, marketing and PR.
The conference is taking place between the 2nd and of 4th June 2014 at the Hilton Malta, with Air Malta being the official airline partner.
The CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, Mr Josef Formosa Gauci, commenting on this upcoming prestigious event said, “This is an ideal opportunity to showcase Malta’s unique selling proposition to an audience that can stimulate significant demand through the various companies that they own or represent, be it tour operators and travel agents or cruise liner companies. The rich historical backdrop of Malta and the Portomaso Marina will provide an ideal setting for networking and also gives attendees the opportunity to explore Malta’s various attractions.”
Dr. Steven Freudmann, Chairman of ITT said, “I am delighted that Malta will be hosting our 2014 conference. The Malta Tourism Authority has worked tirelessly in recent years with the British travel trade in positioning Malta as a vibrant and diverse destination. Hosting our conference is testament to this, as this gives the MTA the opportunity to present the Islands’ diverse offerings, where members will have a great chance to see first-hand all that Malta has to offer. The board and I are extremely grateful to the Malta Tourism Authority for offering to host the conference and we look forward to a fruitful and successful event.”
Established in 1956, ITT is the only professional membership body for individuals employed in the travel and tourism industry, one of the largest trade sectors in the UK. It is dedicated to developing and maintaining high professional standards throughout the industry and provides members with support and guidance, at the same time as encouraging excellence and professionalism.
