Local bus company Arriva Malta has said that Maltese public transport will switch to winter timetables on Sunday, November 3rd.

This change, which is part of a contractual twice-yearly change in the operation of buses across Malta and Gozo, is aimed at matching the services provided to the different needs and demands in passenger transport during the winter months, the company said.

With the change to winter timetables, some summer bus services (like the bus services to beaches) will be stopped, and frequencies on some routes will change reflecting the variances in passenger demands (eg: higher frequencies during the morning hours and lower frequencies on Sundays).

A collection of new timetable leaflets will also be available from Arriva ticket booths from November the 3rd and through the Arriva website www.arriva.com.mt/wintertime over the coming days.

Arriva said that over the next few days passengers may also notice that the timetables on their bus stops have changed (from the blue summer timetables to the red/aquamarine winter timetables). This process will be going on over the next few days where Arriva personnel will be updating this information on all bus stops prior to the changes on November the 3rd.
