The Xaghra United FC has recently invested in a 14kwp Photovoltaic System. This installation is expected to generate enough power to cover the club’s electricity requirements and at the same time reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint by twenty tonnes annually.
The Club said that “apart from the tangible economic and environmental benefits of this investment, over the longer term this project will re-enforce the organisation’s social mission and green credentials, paving the way for further investment for the benefit of the surrounding community by way of promotion of sports activities and related educational initiatives with the main aim of encouraging and promoting the benefits of practicing sports.”
This project has been made possible through co-financing under the European Regional Development Fund and the Ministry for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties.
