On Thursday the annual charity fund raising marathon L-Istrina gets underway and in Gozo the activities are taking place at the Astra Theatre in Victoria.

The President of Malta, Dr George Abela will be arriving at the theatre at 7.00pm

The show will include popular singer Ira Losco, along with La Stella Band. For this occasion, the band will be under the direction of Mro Sigmund Mifsud, the Society’s Assistant Musical Director

Other participants during the evening will include popular bands The Tramps, Cash & Band, Melanie & Band and various dance schools including: Yada Dance Company, Centre Stage Dance Academy, Powerhouse and Dance Cradle . There will be also participation of the Laudate Pueri choir, Piccole Stella and the La Stella Dramatic Company.

During the evening there will be live links with the Istrina 2013 marathon taking place on television.

Activities will get underway from 3.00pm with several events taking place in the foyer of the theatre including entertainment for children and a Christmas Mini Market among others.

Pledges and donations can be made at the theatre from 9.00am onwards on Thursday morning.

The Astra Theatre entertainment takes place between 5.00pm and 9.00pm. Entrance to the show will be free of charge.
