The Gozo University Group said today that it welcomes the new bus routes and timetables, which have been formulated with the needs of Gozitan students in mind.

It said that the Ministry of Transport carried out a consultation process and GUG was one of the entities that took part, to represent the Gozitan community.

The Group said that it carried out a survey among Gozitan students, with a significant number of responses. The results of this survey were presented to the Ministry of Transport with its recommendations.

GUG President, Ryan Mercieca, said that “GUG appreciates that its proposals to better the situation of Gozitan students have not been ignored in these new timetables and encourages that new operator does not significantly alter these timetables.”

He added that “for the first time, students studying at MCAST have also been included in the route from Cirkewwa. This is another important step that GUG achieved for Gozitan students at MCAST.”
