The village of Zebbug will be participating in this year’s Gozo Carnival 2014 Festivities which are taking place around the island over the coming days.

The Carnival in Zebbug, organised by the Local Council, will get underway on Sunday, the 2nd of March, this year starting early afternoon at around 12.15pm, when the “Banda Santa Marija” of Zebbug will play joyful marches along the main street leading from the Band Club to the village Main Square.

This will be followed by an afternoon of fun and colourful entertainment for all the family to enjoy, several local Carnival dance companies will be taking part, mixed in with intervals of songs and music by other popular local talent.

There will also be a ‘Best Carnival Costume’ competition, in three categories: best costume (with foam), best costume (without foam) and best costume with mask.

The Carnival festivities will end with the traditional “Kukkanja” challenge and fun for all.

The Zebbug Local Council is encouraging everyone to come along and join in the fun of this afternoon full of entertainment and also, of course, to take part in the Best Carnival Costume Competition.
