Seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.3 per cent in January over the previous month. When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went down by 11.5 per cent, the National Statistics Office said today.

In January, the overall index of industrial production decreased by 0.3 per cent to 96.9 points over the previous month. Decreases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (-6.4 per cent), energy (-1.8 per cent) and consumer goods (-1.9 per cent).

On the other hand, an increase was registered in the production of capital goods (+1.7 per cent).

When compared with the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production went down by 11.5 per cent. Decreases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (-26.8 per cent), energy (-0.3 per cent) and consumer goods (-8.8 per cent).

On the other hand, an increase was registered in the production of capital goods (+15.1 per cent).
