Today marks the release of ‘Static Made Me This Way,’ the first single to be released by Gozitan band They Come in Twos. The song defines a new sound to be heard from Malta’s sister island, incorporating heavy guitars and drums with ambient, experimental and electronica music.
Some notable characteristics include dynamic contrasts and lack of vocals, leaving the song open to different interpretations by its listeners.
They Come in Twos was formed in late 2013 by Christian Farrugia following the disbanding of Saving Alexis, forming a musical outlet without necessitating the use of vocals in rock music. Long time friend Paul Formosa, of established Gozitan metal band Ascendor, was recruited to assist on drums and general songwriting.
As of today, the project is still a studio act, focusing mainly on heavy promotion through social media and releasing a new single every few months.
