Dr Godfrey Farrugia and Dr Franco Mercieca both resign

Update; The Health Minister Dr Godfrey Farrugia, has tendered his resignation in a letter to the Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Muscat.
In his letter Dr Farrugia thanked the Prime Minister for offering him the post of Social Policy Minister but said he could not accept the position.
Dr Farrugia also said that when he was appointed as the Health Minister, he saw it as an opportunity to strengthen his services for the dignity and needs of patients.
Dr Franco Mercieca, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing, also confirmed today that he had submitted a resignation letter to the Prime Minister.
A cabinet reshuffle is expected to be announced today.
