Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar has chosen the film ‘Noah’ for its first film night, which is to be held on Friday, the 11th of April 2014.

FAA said that “inspired by the original story of courage, sacrifice and hope, this film’s strong performances and wide-screen sweeping visuals tell this timeless tale on an impressive but human scale, focusing on Noah’s moral dilemmas, battles and intense family strife against the backdrop of a resonant ecological message.”

Time Magazine describes this film as “a challenging, enthralling, very modern parable” saying “Movies aren’t supposed to be this good this early in the year.” Loosely built on the biblical story, ‘Noah’ is “about a man whose mission is to obliterate Earth’s past and godfather its future… Rarely has a film been so masterly in carrying its spectators to its heights and through its depths.” Time Magazine. Movieline said “It stays with you long after you leave the theatre. This ‘Noah’ is unlike any other film of its kind-an intimate and stirring new take on a biblical story we only thought we knew.”

Directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Russell Crowe as Noah along with Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Anthony Hopkins, and Douglas Booth, ‘Noah’ is controversial, as political as it is spiritual, and has been acclaimed to be a $160 million masterpiece.

FAA is inviting everyone to join them at the Eden Cinemas in the foyer of Cinema 17 from 8.15pm for a pre-cinema reception including wine, beer, soft drinks and canapés. The film will be shown at around 9.00pm.

Proceeds from this fundraising event will go towards FAA’s restoration of the unique medieval altarpiece at the Augustinian Priory, Rabat, Malta.
