The Ministry for Tranport and Infrastructure has said in a statement that a total of three companies have submitted bids to operate the public transport service.

The call for expression of interest closed today, and a fourth submission was received after the deadline had expired.

The Ministry said that the next step is to evaluate the offers that have been submitted.

“Our goal is to select a serious company that would provide a sustainable service, a reliable service that meets the needs of the public, which is dependable and efficient. With a new operator that would also consider the economic and social aspects, “said Joe Mizzi, the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure.
