Gozo is being promoted through the portal http://www.travelmole.com, which describes it as a “‘beautiful Mediterranean eco-island.” Travelmole is an online community for the Travel and Tourism Industry, established in 1998.
TravelMole.com and TravelMole.TV publishes 15 e-Newsletters and broadcasts hundreds of videos to over 450,000 travel and tourism industry professional registered members and subscribers, as well as 30 million consumers in 132 countries.
The article discusses the recent prestigious VISTAS award presented to Gozo for sustainable and responsible tourism. The international programme VISTAS (Vision, Innovative, Sustainable Tourism Award Series) award ceremony was held in March at the international tourism expo at the ITB Berlin 2014
The aim of VISTAS is to encourage tourism destinations to identify, exchange and apply good practices in sustainable tourism worldwide.
VISTAS is managed by five leading international networks: Vision, ECOTRANS, EDEN, EUCC-Quality Coast, and Alpine Pearls, under the umbrella of the DestiNet Innovation Group (DIG).
Gozo also won the Quality Coast Gold Award in 2012 for its sustainable practices.

And just think, Gozo did all this and won all these awards despite not having a landing strip. Take note Joseph!
I love Gozo but what about all the rubbish that is dumped everywhere? I walk 4-6 miles a day on the island and try to return with the car to collect and recycle crap. It is never ending. Arghhhhh.
