The Netherlands have made sure of a semi final place after beating Malta 5-2 during a great day of football played at the Gozo Stadium on Monday.

The hosts however left the field of play with their heads held high after a very promising second half performance.

Holland dominated the first half and raced into a 3-0 lead by the half hour mark, but an off-the-line clearance and a goal by J. Mbong, three minutes before halftime, injected life into the Malta team.The second half was a different story and despite conceding a fourth in the opening minutes, the boys in red gave as much as they conceded, and besides scoring a second through A. Friggieri, they were unlucky not to add to their tally after creating a number of other opportunities.

J. Schuurmann (3) and S. Bergwijn (20 scored the goals for the Netherlands.

Turkey took the lead through Unal on the 9th minute mark, but it took England just 60 seconds to equalise through Solanke.England dominated the second half of the match and scored three times without reply through a second from Solanke, Kenny and Armstrong.
