700 students in Malta & Gozo attend Breakfast Club during first month

The Government said today that around 700 students attended Breakfast Club every day during the first month of the scheme. In total around 11,000 breakfast were offered in the schools of Malta and Gozo.

The Minister for Education and Employment Mr Evarist Bartolo, this morning visited the Breakfast Club at Santa Venera Primary School, where the children were enjoying their breakfast.

The Breakfast Club scheme began operating in State Primary Schools on the 1st of April, when schools started to open at 7am to enable parents to bring their children in early, they are provided with breakfast and supervised before the school time starts.

This service is being offered free of charge to those children whose parents work.
