The Minister for Gozo, Anton Refalo has paid a visit to the premises of Thynk Software, which originally started off as a one-man operation. The founder Mr Marlon Grech has managed to now increase the team to 10 people.
Before starting his own business Marlon had successfully founded an office for a global consultancy firm here in Malta.
Marlon Grech explained that Thynk Software is a team “driven by passion to build products that aid users’ everyday lives and solve problems.”
He added that “their main focus are the start-ups that want to evolve their ideas, which they then help carry out, be developing it, leveraging the latest and greatest technologies and take that idea to the market as quickly and cost effective as possible.”
Thynk Software has a number of overseas partners; these include Pearl of ICT (Saudi Arabia) and D-CYDE (Australia)
Minister Refalo stated that Thynk Software is in line with th “Government’s mission in attracting in new economic investment to the island of Gozo, that want to tap into the small, but growing number of IT professionals in Gozo, and help in creating a culture that leads to develop innovative start-ups.”
Thynk Software said that it strives to build relationships with local IT education and training sectors to ensure that students either become IT entrepreneurs themselves, or are geared towards helping those who want to start-up new business where IT plays a central role.
The company currently employs eight software developers and they said that they are projecting to extend the software developers team by another seven employees by the end of year. “Currently there are also two end user experience designers and another two employees working on quality assurance. The latter number is also expected to be extended by another two employees by the end of year.”
The Minister encouraged Marlon Grech to continue with the expansion, adding that he is “willing to support this business, along with other small entrepreneurs.”
