The Management of Malta Public Transport Services is currently holding discussions with the General Workers Union to issue the summer timetables. It is anticipated that the new summer schedules will become effective as from next week.

With respect to the complaints and media articles on problems with air conditioning systems, Malta Public Transport explained that whilst it was aware of some problems being faced on a small number of buses that have been leased from the UK very recently, it insists that “most of the buses in the fleet are equipped with fully functional air conditioning systems that meet the contracted standards imposed by the regulator, and most importantly ensures that passengers travel comfortably.”

Malta Public Transport said that it regrets any inconvenience caused and can confirm that the issue is being addressed to remedy the situation with the least delays.
