Members of the Gozitan University Group recently met with MEP Dr Miriam Dalli to discuss issues that affect the Gozitan students. This was not the first time the group had met with the Dr. Dalli, as she also took part in the debate organised during the Gozo Week on Campus.

During the meeting the GUG gave an overview of what has been achieved by the Group in this year, and the issues that still need to be addressed.

GUG pointed out the need for further investment in the University of Malta, Gozo Campus, as they said that this campus “is not being used to its full potential.”

The issues of connectivity with the mainland and transport; in Malta and between the islands were high on the agenda. GUG said that these matters need to be addressed without any further delay.

It was also discussed that the lack of a second fibre optic cable and fast ferry service are a handicap for Gozo. The latter seem to be needed more than ever before, the GUG said.
