This project was partially financed by national funds granted by the Minister for Gozo, from Council funds and European funds.

The Minister for Gozo said that we should look at developing a sustainable island, with culture and natural resources, together with connectivity between the two islands as the ideal synergy to see Gozo make the next leap forward for a quality island.

“Against this background we have, and still are improving the socio-economic infrastructure of Gozo. The Central Government and its entities should always be committed to assist and collaborate with local councils to further enhance the cultural product, tourism and environmental localities of this island, the Minister said.

Dr Refalo stressed that the economy of Gozo is different from that of Malta because it depends more strongly on domestic tourism, which is why it is so imperative that the necessary importance is given to this sector.

The Minister for Gozo augured well for a good feast to all the people of Qala. He urged those present to continue working tirelessly to further improve the Gozo product to meet the aspirations of local people and foreigners.
