The Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing Dr Justyne Caruana, has been in Troina Sicily, where she visited a facility for Persons with Disability.

Dr Caruana met with Padre Luigi Ferlauto, President and founder of the IRCCS Oasi Maria SS. This facility over the years has established a special and distinct specialisation in the treatment of people with intellectual disabilities and neuro-cognitive disorders.

During their meeting they discussed the possibility of establishing cooperation between Malta and the facility in Troina. Dr Caruana was also given a tour of Oasi.

The Parliamentary Secretary was greeted by the Mayor of Troina Sebastiano Fabio Venezia.
