Industrial production down 4.2% in July on previous month – NSO

Seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 4.2 per cent in July over the previous month. When compared to July 2013, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went down by 0.3 per cent, the National Statistics Office said today.
In July, the overall index of industrial production decreased by 4.2 per cent to 93.9 points. Decreases were registered in the production of consumer goods (-3.1 per cent), intermediate goods (-2.1 per cent) and energy (-1.3 per cent). On the other hand, the production of capital goods went up by 1.5 per cent.
When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production went down by 0.3 per cent. Decreases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (-4.7 per cent) and energy (-3.3 per cent). On the other hand, the production of capital goods and consumer goods went up by 7.4 and 2.7 per cent respectively.
