Fresher’s week serves as a way to help students get accustomed to the new journey they are about to begin.

Today, the Gozo University Group welcomed the first arrivals, with over 300 Gozitan students visiting the GUG stand, where the Maintenance Grant application and the GUG magazine were handed out.

This year the maintenance grant will be given out directly to the students’ bank account, instead of by cheque as the previous years. GUG said that this was thanks to its proposal and lobbying in the last academic year.

With the aid of the Ministry of Education and Employment an information booklet was also printed, for first year students. This included in it an Msida map, showing shops and utilities useful for Gozitan students living in the area.

The GUG said that students should feel free to approach executive member from the organisation with any questions they might have, it is their aim is to help Gozitan student in any way possible.

The GUG stand will be open from 8.00am every morning up until the 8th of October.
