Over the Weekend the Marsa CC were supposed to have a three game series against Tetherdown Trundlers CC (also known as Occassionals CC).
On the Sunday where there were two twenty over games planned, after the first fifteen overs were bowled the heavens opened up, and the covers were put on, and for the first time against touring teams this year, a game was rained off and another not played due to rain. 
The Trundlers are the twenty fourth touring team for the year, with four more teams remaining. So the series result rested on the Saturday forty over game.
The home team batted first and were bowled out for their lowest score against touring team for this year, that of 80 runs.
Sid Anand with a very unique batting grip was top scorer with thirty four runs which include four boundaries and two sixes. Mark G Sacco made sixteen runs and extras were fifteen.
The other nine batsmen (Tony Azzopardi, Sarfraz Ali, Matt McKeogh, Nowell Khosla, Adam Krishna, Kevin Krishna, Suhrid Roy, Paul Bradley and Jonathan Tulley) made fifteen runs between them.
It was going to need a mighty effort for the home team to win. For the Trundlers, Sam ball took four wickets, Olly Buxton three, Marius Gordon two and Sean Binns one. A very fine bowling display.
The Marsa team bowled well enough but could not defend such a low total. The Trundlers reached their target in the twenty ninth over, losing six wickets along the way, three going to a promising youngster Suhrid Roy, and one a piece to the experience of Sarfraz Ali and Nowell Khosla.
There was also a run out. Bruce Hayward was the top scorer with thirty four runs. Liam Lolley made seventeen runs and there were thirteen extras as top scorers in the win for Tetherdown Trundlers.
Next week the Marsa team take on new touring team The Apricots CC in a three game series, first game being played on Thursday and two games being played over the Weekend.
On Saturday the Sunoco Cricket Academy/nursery will be from 9.00 till 10.30am.
