Dr. Justyne Caruana reached an agreement recently with both the Astra Theatre President Mr. Paul M. Cassar, as well as with the President of Aurora Theatre Dr. Michael Caruana to purchase tickets for these two operas, these will be given to the elderly that met the criteria on application.

The Parliamentary Secretary said that together with her Secretariat, she will continue to support this initiative on an annual basis for the benefit of the elderly who have never previously had the opportunity to attend similar events.

Dr. Caruana also announced that applications have opened for two important initiatives for those about to retire, these will take place in the Mosta Day Centre, and Training Centre, on teaching liberal arts once a week. Those interested in attending this training, can apply at the Mosta Day Centre.

The purpose of the first series of courses is to prepare people and workers approaching retirement age, Dr Caruana said.
